Despite the weather forcast for Monday 24th being bad, the rain held off for Sports Day. In fact it turned out to be glorious and far too hot for the eventful day that it usually is. We began with circuts for the first part of the day. This includes activities like Tug of War, ladder races, hurdles, balance the ball on the hurl, javlin, frisbees, bouncy ball, etc. There are 15 in total. The children are in mixed teams with pupils from 6th down to JI on each team. Every four mins or so they move to a new activitiy. In the afternoon they switch to class based activities such as musical chairs, relay races like egg and spoon, GAA Fun station, hockey, penalties, basketball and the parachute. A special thank you to James Rossitter and Ciara Dempsey , our two transition year students, for helping with setting up the activities and looking after a station too. It was a great day but a thirsty one.
