Scratch programming links

We are in our third year of teaching Scratch Programming to 6th class. Scratch Computer programming was developed by MIT Media Lab. It is a free programming and online community where anyone can create their own animations, stories, games etc. It is very child friendly and allows children to get an idea what programming is all about.

6th class are about to submit their projects for the Scratch Competition run by ICS. They are putting the finishing touches to their creations at the moment to be submitted at the end of the week. This year's groups created a lot of their own animations by drawing most of their sprites and backgrounds. They created stories and games rather than quizzes. It has enriched their ability to problem solve and as usual they never cease to amaze us with their originality and inventivness. Their projects can be viewed on at Rathgaroguens or click on the links below

A man on a mission by Conor and James
Crazy Crossroads by Luke and Jack
Guess the Costume by Ciara and Aoife
