School Tours

2017

Junior Infants and Senior Infants went to Woodfield House in Oylgate for their school tour. It is a wonderful woodland setting with lots of small out buildings and fields. The children love it. They enjoyed dressing scarecrows, blowing bubbles, making pictures out of turf and butter churning. They had a welly throwing competition between the boys and girls and the highlight was probably the wet sponge throwing competition. They enjoyed story time and visited the faries' house though the faries were no where to be seen. The day was completed with a short time spent in Templeudigan playground.

It is that time of year again when every class goes on their school tour. For many of the children it is the highlight of the school year and one they remember for the rest of their lives. This year 1st and 2nd class went to Gowan Reptile Park and Bowling in Kilkenny. They enjoyed the tortoises and iguanas at the Reptile Park but many were not too sure about the tarantualas or snakes. Some kept a safe distance from the snake but others were up for the challenge of rubbing it. Watching the crocodiles being fed at the end of the day was probably the scariest event of the day. Bowling on the other hand was safer and a bit of fun in the morning. With the lights out and  music blasting they danced their way through the morning.

3rd and 4th class went to The Watershed in Kilkenny for their school tour this year. It is an activity centre full of bouncy activities like slides, obstacles courses, football and Zorb balls. The swimming pool was a highlight and they had an action packed day keeping them active for the whole day. (See pictures below)

5th and 6th class returned to Duncannon Adventure Centre for their school tour. They had a fantastic time doing archery, caving, rock climbing and the highlight of their day has to be the Wibit and the water activities on the sea. They can go boating, canoeing or use the bouncy slides, trampolines and wibit. They loved trying to push the instructors off or just each other. They returned home exhaused but thoroughly satisfied with the days activities. ( see pictures below)
