I hope you are all well. Thank you and well done to everyone who adapted to remote learning so well during the past 12 weeks. We could never have envisioned when the school closed quickly on 12th March that we would not return to school to complete this school year. For the remainder of June we will take a new approach to the work we are sending to pupils via Aladdin and SeeSaw. There will be very little, if any, written work. Next week, 8th - 12th June our teachers will ask pupils to complete work based on the PAWS water safety programme. We always teach this module in June and it is one which can be completed quite easily at home. We ask that pupils continue to read as much as possible but at a minimum for 30 minutes per day.
For the final two weeks 15th - 26th June we will send out whole school activities which can be completed in approximately 30 minutes. All pupils can complete the same activity.
On Tuesday 16th June, the school will be opened from 3pm - 7pm for the return of Book Rental books and so parents can collect belongings from the school. Please arrange for the Book Rental books to be returned if you are unable to attend as these will be required for Book Rental in September. Your child's belongings will be bagged for ease of collection. There will be a one way system into the school through the front door. Parents can then exit the school through the classroom exit door at the back/side of the school. We ask that one person per household only attends to drop off and collect books. Hand sanitizers will be available at the front door.
At present, we are awaiting guidelines from the Department of Education and Skill regarding re-opening schools for the 2020-2021 school year. Once we have received the guidelines we will work quickly to put a plan in place for re-opening Scoil Naomh Áine.
