The hightlight of the school year seems to have been the visit of the Irish Coast Guard to the school. They landed in the field beside the school causing great excitement among the children. The crew spent time with the children explaining what their job entails and going through the equipment that they use. Every one got to board the Helicopter and see the inside with some of them actually getting to sit in the cockpit. In honour of the heroic work that the Irish Coast Guard do on a daily basis, the children dressed up as their favourite superhero and donated money to the New Ross River Rescue who also do trojan work. They amazed the children as they winched up two of the crew as they left. It was a fabulous day and extremely interesting.
