5th and 6th class went to Dunmore East Adventure Centre for their school tour. The day began with the children learning Archery. The three tutors had many great games to keep them enthuastic and motivated to hit the target. This was followed by some of the them entering the purpose built cave to simulate pot holing and to search for the blue ball. Unfortunately no one managed to find the mysterious ball. They all had a turn then learning the art of rock climbing using the indoor and outdoor walls. This strenuous activity posed no problem for the very fit children of Rathgarogue.
The afternoon was all water based activities. They spent two wonderful hours kayaking, jumping off rocks, in pedal boats and on the Wibit, which is like multiple bouncy castles on water. They were utterly exhausted at the end of the day, soaked through to the skin but they had a blast. Many thanks to the tutors in the centre. The slide show below gives an idea of their day out.
